On September 26th, 2023, the Brookings Police Department took a report of intentional damage to property that occurred at the 500 block of 6th Avenue South. An unknown individual(s) slashed both passenger tires on a Ford Pickup. A small knife puncture hole was observed on both front and back tires. The incident would have occurred on the night of September 25th, 2023 and the estimated damage is around $200.

On September 21st, 2023, at 10 PM, the Brookings Police Department took a report of an intentional damage to property that occurred at 900 block of Southland Lane. An unknown individual(s) cut multiple washer water lines in the laundry rooms on three separate floors at the apartment complex. A large amount of water flooded each floor in the hallways. The estimated damage is around $5,000.

On Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, an unknown individual(s) forced entry into a residence in the 300 block of 10th Street West in Brookings, SD. The suspects stole jewelry, a boom box, a laptop, and other miscellaneous personal items.
The victim is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the CONVICTION of the person(s) responsible for the burglary. This reward is above and beyond any reward that would be offered by Crime Stoppers.

Over the past year there have been several incidents reported of lug nuts being tampered with and loosened. It is believed some of these have occurred within the City of Volga. The City of Volga has authorized a $1,000 reward for information leading to the CONVICTION of the person(s) responsible for tampering with lug nuts in Volga. This reward is above any reward offered by Crimes Stoppers.

Sometime between July 11th, 2022 and July 30th, 2022, an unknown person stole a 1995 Honda outboard boat motor from a boat in the 200 block of Railroad Street in Brookings. The estimated value of the motor is approximately $3,000.
